Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa(3650m)get the first impression of Tibet

When you arrive in Lhasa either by flight or Train, Your guide will greet you  welcome traditional Tibetan white scarf to wish you good luck,

You can see the Yarlung Tsangpo River( the longest and largest valley river in Tibet) and the Lhasa river on the way from the airport,

After arriving in Lhasa, you can take a rest and get acclimatized to high altitude. If you feel good and want to go out, then you can go to Potala square and Barkhor street, where you will enjoy the fountain with different pilgrimages and get amazing photos of the palace and Jokhang temple,

For the first time comers of Tibet, to get acclimatized to the high altitude in Tibet. Having a good rest in your hotel and drinking more is a good option. Don’t rush to visit attraction places in the city.

Day 02: Lhasa city sightseeing tour- Drepung monastery and Sera monastery,

Today’s tour will first visit you to the Drepung monastery which is located at the southern slope of Mount Gambo Utse, five kilometers from the western suburb of Lhasa,

the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery as well as one of the Famous three monasteries of  Gyelukpa school in Lhasa,

“Drepung? means rice heap in Tibetan,

This monastery was founded by Jamyang Choji Tashi Palden in 1416. One of Ji Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. Along with the Sera monastery and Ganden monastery.  The Drepung monastery in Lhasa is the most superordinate among the six biggest Tibetan monasteries,

The main highlight for visiting the Drepung monastery include unique traditional architecture and amazing buildings, like the Ganden palace. Cohen Hall. Four great Dratsangs( Loselling, Gomang, Deyang, and Ngagpa ) and the biggest main kitchen for over 10.000 monks have had prepared food and teas. As well former residence of Dalai Lamas until the fifth Dalai Lama,

Also, you can see the lots of old relics of Buddha’s status, Buddhist sutras textbooks, and the Thangkas and the painting murals,

In the Afternoon visit to Sera Monastery, This monastery was originally built in 1419 by Jamchen Chojey Sakya Yeshe,

“Sera ” is not certain, but it may derive from the fact that the original site was surrounded by Wild rose( Se Ra in Tibet)

Sera monastery is one of the great three Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet. Monastery has houses more than 5,000 monks in 1959 and consists of several colleges. Sera Mey Dratsang was built in 1419, gives basic instruction to the monks, Sera Jey Dratsang  was built in 1435,  was the largest and was reserved for wandering monks, especially Mongol monks, Ngagpa Dratsang built-in 15559, was  a school for the teaching of the Gelukpa tantras,

During the festival time, Hearing perpetual chanting of Buddhist scriptures by lamas echoing in the tsochen hall(assembly hall) and every day doing debates in the debating courtyard. ( Except on Saturday and Sunday)seeing the routine activity of Buddhist debating in the large debating courtyard, Even though you may don’t know Tibetan, seeing monks debating won’t be boring and you’ll be deeply infected by their enthusiasm and focus.

Day 03: Lhasa city sightseeing tour: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor street;

After breakfast, we go to the Potala Palace, this ancient architectural complex is considered a model of Tibetan architecture. Located on the Red hill, the palace has 13 stories, it was founded by the 33rd great king Songtsen Gompo in the 7th century, the most valuable collections of the Potala palace are gilded burial stupas of former Dalai lamas and Meditation cave of the great king Songtsen Gompo used in the 7th  century,

During the 17th century, the great 5th Dalai Lama has reconstructed the present site of the Potala Palace, which is the winter palace and the residence of the Dalai Lama.

Potala palace has two different palaces; the white palace and Red palace,

After Lunch, visit the Jokhang temple which was built by the 33rd great king Songtsen Gampo of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside you can see the most sacred statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at age of twelve and thousands of other Buddha’s statues and old painting murals at the wall,

Outside, you can see pilgrims making prostrate in front of the temple and the pilgrimages doing clockwise circumambulation temple(a religious circle of a building or mountains), where you can do kora with pilgrims and locals, explore the old market.

Day 04:  Lhasa – Shigatse via Gyantse 360 km

In the morning, drive to Shigatse from Lhasa. On the way drive over the first mountain pass Gampa-la pass 4790 meters and you will have an amazing view of Yamdruk Yumtso lake 4400meters. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and in the far distance you can have spectacular views of Mount Nyenchen Khangsar 7191 m,

Later, we will pass and enjoy the Kari- la Glacier on the roadside, Simil-la pass 4340m, you can hang pray flag on the  pass,

Then we will arrive in Gyantse, Historically Tibet’s third-largest city ( after Shigatse and Lhasa). In Gyantse, we will visit the Pelkor Monastery and Kumbum stupa,

After one and a half hours drive to Shigatse, we arrive in Shigatse, which is the second biggest city in Tibet and the largest city in Tsang prefecture,

Altitude:3900m

Day 05: Shigatse to Mt. Everest:360km

In the morning, we’ll drive from Shigatse to Lhatse. 150km, on way Tso-la pass 4500m, it is a small town where you can have lunch.

After that, we will gradually drive ascend to the  Gyantse-la pass 5248m. On the top, you can see the snow-capped mountains and you can hang the prayer flags after we enter the Mount. Everest National Nature Reserve Park, Travelers can enjoy the panoramic views of the  Himalaya range at Gyawu-la pass 5198m,  the most amazing you can see the five peaks above the 8000meters, like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu, and Mt.Shishabangma, if the weather is permits

Then we drive descend along Zigzig road to Eco bus station, on there we need to go in Eco bus to Rongbuk monastery. half an hour drive, you can get closer to a better view of Mt. Everest (Qomolangma, Goddess mother of mountains)

Day 06: Rongbuk monastery return to Shigatse:360km

In the morning, you can enjoy the sunrise view on Mt. Everest if weather permits, we will visit the Rongbuk monastery, the world highest monastery 5150 m, with Monks and Nuns praying together in the assembly hall, finally, we will drive back to Shigatse, check-in hotel and visit Tashi lhunpo monastery,

Day 07: Shigatse to Lhasa,360 km

Today, we will back to Lhasa by following the Yarlung River valley. On the way, You will enjoy the landscape of Yarlung Tsangpo valley and the shortstop at making Tibetan traditional incense.

Day 08: Depart from Lhasa,

Your guide and driver will transfer you to the Airport or Train station, Help you get on board.
