6 Days Tour of Lhasa and Holy Lkae Namtso lake

Trip Itinerary

Day 01. Flight or Train to Lhasa, 3-star hotel(Yak Hotel or similar rate hotel)
The altitude of Lhasa is 3650meters above sea level, our guide and drive will meet you at Lhasa airport or Railway station, your guide will greet you welcome to Tibet, drive along the Yurlung Tsangpo river and Lhasa river valley on the way to Lhasa city after you will arrive in Lhasa city at your hotel, you can check-in and guide will help you get checked in, For the rest of day you will have take rest and take it easy to allow your body to acclimatize to the high altitude of Lhasa,

Day2. Lhasa city sightseeing tour: Morning visit to Drepung monastery and Afternoon visit to Sera monastery
Drepung monastery was built in 1416 by Jamyang Chogyi Tashi Palden , the disciple of the Ji Tsongkhapa, this is the largest Buddhist monastery in Tibet and more than 1000 monks and lamas with many colleges studies on the Buddhism sutra and philosophy, this monastery belongs to the Gelugpa sect(yellow hat), The original residence of the Dalai lame before reconstruction of the Potala palace,
Sera monastery was built by Jamchen Choji Sakya Yashi (disciple of the Tsongkhapa )in 1419, the second largest monastery in Tibet, The monastery holds a number of different monastic colleagues with several hundreds of monks and lamas from across Tibet in residence. The best attraction of the monastery for tourists is the famous philosophical and theological debates by monks in the debating courtyard, every afternoon except Sunday.

Day3. Lhasa city sightseeing tour: Morning to Potala palace and Afternoon to Jokhang Temple with Barkhor street,
When you enter the Potala Palace, which is the largest scale architecture complex in Tibet, It was originally built in the 7th century by the Famous 33rd king Songtsen Gampo and rebuilt in the 17th century by the great 5th Dalai Lama, After that Potala becomes the residence winter palace and government center of Dalai lamas,
Palace is divided into two complexes, Red palace, and White palace,
The red palace is mainly for Spiritual central and the White palace is mainly for government central,
Afternoon visiting Jokhang Temple, which is regarded as the holiest in Tibet Buddhism,

Day4. Drive from Lhasa to Namtso Lake and Drive back to Damxung town,
In the morning, you will drive to Namtso lake, one of the four holy lakes of Tibet and also the highest and largest salt lake in the world. On the way, you can see the snow-capped Nyenchen Thanglha mountain ranges and a lot of Nomads and their tent with grazing Yaks and Sheep densely populated on the flourishing grassland, while standing at the famous Lagen- la pass 5190 meters above sea level, you can view the stunning colorful of Namtso lake, Then you can enjoy our time doing a leisurely trek around Tashi Dor island and lakeshore,afternoon drive back to Damxung town
Stay overnight at Damxung: Pema hotel

Day5. Drive from Damxung to Lhasa via Tsurpo monastery
After breakfast, we will drive to the Tsurpo monastery, The seat of the Karmapa branch of the kagyupa order of Tibetan Buddhism. Also nice to do monastery kora,
Finally, we will drive back to Lhasa
Stay overnight at Lhasa: Yak hotel

Day6. Transfer to Airport or Train station
The Guide and driver will transfer you to Airport or Train station, the guide will help you onboard,
